My almost adult children showed me this. If you Google, “A Man in Florida,” along with a month and date, you will get hundreds of funny “A Man in Florida” stories, that were published on that date. From what I can tell, they are all real. This will make you smile. Either that or you will be scared to death.
1. A Florida man angry after not finding a straw at the condiment bar at McDonald’s, was caught on video attacking an employee and attempting to pull her over the counter. The man was unaware of a new city law requiring customers to request straws. The employee attempted to defend herself by punching the customer in the face.
2. A Florida man was arrested for domestic battery after admitting he hit his dad in the face with a slice of pizza because he was mad his dad helped birth him.
3. A Florida man says three syringes removed from his rectum during a strip search at the Pinellas County Jail do not belong to him.
4. A Florida father burned his 4-year-old son with a torch-style lighter to teach him a lesson about not being careless with fire.
5. A Florida man admitted to killing his wife, but only after he was arrested for also killing three of her family members. Authorities believe the wife may have been dead for as long as a year, but the husband convinced her friends and family that she was still alive by texting and sending photos of the couple’s two young children from her phone and telling them that she was unavailable to talk when they called.
6. A Florida man was arrested after more than 40 grams of cocaine were found in his possession during a traffic stop, but not before he decided to chew up and eat part of the arresting officer’s car seat.
7. A Florida man threatened to kill his neighbor with kindness, then used his machete named ‘Kindness.’
8. A Florida Man was shooting at a target in his backyard when he hit his neighbor sitting at home at his dining room table.
Fast-food input for the week. The Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and the Spicy Potato Soft Taco at Taco Bell will be back on the menu in March after being removed last summer. People were upset but it takes a lot of time and effort to prepare potato bites, so they say. I think menus were simplified everywhere in the past year, and all the fluff was eliminated. One person said, “Taco bell getting rid of potatoes is worse than my parents’ divorce.” I guess some considered it a serious issue☹. Greek yogurt maker, Chobani, is launching a new line of ready to drink cold coffees…since there are not enough ready to drink coffees out there already, I guess. I do love their Coconut Yogurt with a bit of raw oats for breakfast.

Burger King’s current logo was launched in 1999. We like logos at The Source because it grabs attention, separates you from the competition, and encourages brand loyalty. It is also expected by your customers. Think about Nike. It is just a logo. In 2021, Burger King will show their first complete rebrand in more than two decades. It is a “modern” look, just a simple hamburger with Burger King stuck in the middle of the bun, just like it was in 1969, with a few small tweaks. Other changes include the removal of colors, flavors, and preservatives from artificial sources, and an “ambitious pledge to environmental sustainability,” along with packaging, restaurant merchandise, menu-boards, crew uniforms, restaurant signage and décor. Their posters have a real 70’s look.
Crocs had their best sales year on record. Yes, you heard it right. Crocs. The shoe we love to hate, but most people have a secret pair in their closet. I guess that they are here to stay.

Houston real estate agents were caught and recorded steering buyers away from homes with less commission. Simone Biles hopes that the Tokyo Olympics take place, even if it is in a bubble. The robins are here. They are ground feeders, so be careful putting down fertilizers right now. Their beaks are not equipped to break seeds with hard shells, so they enjoy fresh & dried fruit, crushed peanuts, worms, and insects, even suet. They love chopped apples, mealworms, and raisins. They also appreciate a little water. I left chopped oranges this morning and placed all my bird food on the ground.

You may remember that I bought three super cheap trees, then a friend delivered them to my house and is going to plant them down by the creek. Sunday was so pretty, so I got out the dolly, and decided I could manage to move them from the top of the alley, closer to the creekbank where I plan to plant them. NOTE: I was wearing flipflops☹. The first one was the smallest and did not put up much of a fight. I loaded tree #2 and headed down the hill to my spot. As I started back up, the sprinklers turned on, and immediately I knew I was close to being soaked. I turned the opposite direction, still dragging the silly dolly behind me…that should have been dropped. Suddenly my head became a magnet drawn straight towards the creek. This would have been ok, except for the fact that my head forgot to share that information with my body. I tried to keep up, but it was too late…downhill in S-L-O-W motion…desperately trying to save myself. I hit my forehead, eye, elbow, and wrist, plus my hair and clothing were Velcroed in mud, leaves, grass, and sticks. My watch somehow escaped from my arm, my glasses ended up 4-feet away, and one flipflop tried to run off. I got up slowly, brushed myself off, squinted my eyes and looked straight up the hill to see if anyone had witnessed my death-defying act. Nope. If they did happen to catch it, they hurried quickly inside because they were busting-a-gut laughing. When I washed my hair, I had to cut out a small glob of clingy, grassy something that was stuck. It is hell getting old.
Over 400,000 people in the US have now died of Covid-19, with 100,000 in just the last five weeks. This is right at one year after the nation’s first confirmed case. That is as many Americans as US soldiers who died in WWII. It is now the top cause of death in the US. Experts say at least 50% of the U.S. likely need to be vaccinated before the infection rate will start to change.
A couple were charged with murder, after their daughter died from a severe three-year long lice infestation. They believe that repeated bites from lice lowered the young girl’s blood iron level, which resulted in anemia and then cardiac attack. Both parents are out on bond. The little girl’s (2) brothers had been removed from the home because of unsanitary conditions. You already know what I think. I will supply the bugs.
Unless you have been living in a cave in the Yukon, you know January 21st was Inauguration Day, so by the time you read this, we will have a new president. (The 21st was also Squirrel Appreciation Day, but I bet you don’t have a new squirrel.) I raised my children to understand that no matter how you feel about a President or their party, or their decisions or lack of decisions, you must respect the office because the people voted. What a difficult period for that argument, but now we must all find a way to come together and work for one cause…the people of The United States. In 6th grade, we learned the Preamble. “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, (I forgot the rest, so I had to look it up – it has been over 50 years), promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

- And secure the blessings of liberty – to protect our rights and freedoms and not let anyone take them away. Being able to choose our religion, freedom of speech, and to get together with friends, family, and other people are some of the many freedoms we have.
- To ourselves and to our posterity – for kids, parents, grown-ups, and all people born in the country after us.
- Do ordain and establish this Constitution – to write down, and then to live by, a list of rules and promises for our government and our people to obey.
- For the United States of America – OUR country – where we live.
